About Magnus Gjoen
Born in London to Norwegian parents, Magnus Gjoen grew up in Switzerland, Denmark, Italy as well as in the UK. As a contemporary artist Gjoen has exhibited worldwide and questions the notions of beauty by juxtaposing a range of styles and media, incorporating a street and pop aesthetic with a fine art approach. His pieces have the ability to turn dark and strong imagery into something tender and soft – by infusing his work with a mixture of dark humor, pop art and urban themes into a unique sophisticated aesthetic.

Magnus studied design in London and Milan, and left the fashion industry after a decade where he had established a compelling reputation for his original aesthetic working with such industry giants as British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. Upon his departure from the world of fashion design, Magnus immersed himself completely in his art. He has collaborated with an impressive group of brands and organizations including The Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Johnnie Walker, The Wallace Museum and the Mayfair Club.
